USA Gymnastics

The Xcel Program

The USA Gymnastics Xcel Program is a competitive pathway designed to give gymnasts of varying experience, ability levels, and time commitment the opportunity to train and compete. It provides a structured team environment while allowing athletes to progress at a pace that works best for them.

The goal of Xcel is to offer a positive competitive experience where gymnasts can showcase their individual strengths through personalized routines. Athletes compete on Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor, and while each level has required skills, routines can be customized to fit the gymnast.

Coaches select skills that highlight the athlete's strengths and readiness, creating meaningful competitive opportunities without the extensive training hours required in other programs. Gymnasts participate in sanctioned meets with both individual and team scoring, and as they move through the levels, training expectations, skill difficulty, and performance quality gradually increase.
